Just One Healthy Habit: Positive Thinking Friday Report

This was not my most impressive showing. The bright side is that I do think that setting the intention of being more positive did decrease my negative thought patterns. The less bright side is that I didn't once achieve my actual challenge, which was to write down 3 things I'm grateful for each day. I did try to think of 3 things each day, but I do feel like in the past when I took the time to write them down, I was more committed to really considering what parts of my life I take for granted.

Of course, this is something that often happens with people who come to see me. They are fully committed to trying a suggestion that I make, but something fails before they even start that results in them apologizing to me for not trying it out. In this case, my failure was not finding a journal to write in. I have numerous journals, so it shouldn't be such a hard step, but by the end of the day when I thought about doing this, I didn't want to search for one and just thought, "I'll do it tomorrow." Then the next day I would repeat.

What would I say to someone in my office? I'd tell them it's okay that they didn't do it, but that it's still worth finding a way to try it out. So, once I finish writing this post, I'm going to find a journal and make sure it's somewhere I can easily find it later today when I want to consider what's awesome about my life and the world I live in. I'm also going to promise myself that I will try to show a better commitment to the next challenge I set for myself, since there are only 3 weeks of them left.
